Integrity

Posted on January 29, 2010

THOUGHT:

No cost is too heavy for the preservation of one's honor.

Challenge

Don't allow your daily temptations to compromise your honor and integrity. They are very difficult to get back if you slip up. Always use God as your guide and your honor will be in good hands.

God alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not fall.

Compassion

Posted on January 28, 2010

THOUGHT:

Let my heart be broken by the things that break the heart of God.

Challenge

Jesus showed compassion to many, but certainly had a heart for the underprivileged. Find a place in your heart to serve the poor in your community and let your heart be like His.

Verse

Whoever has ears ought to hear.

Wisdom

Posted on January 27, 2010

THOUGHT:

Honest and courageous people have very little to say about either their courage or their honesty.

Challenge

If Christians are honest with themselves, they can’t help but be humble and give credit to God for their strength of character. Humble yourself today by giving credit where credit is due.

Verse

Whoever exalts himself will be humbled; but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

Matthew 23:12

Guidance

Posted on January 26, 2010

THOUGHT:

Beginning your day alone with God is essential preparation for success.

Challenge

Reign in your impulse to plunge into the day’s activities. Just as a great athlete takes time to prepare himself mentally for the feat ahead of him before he moves a muscle, you should be still in God’s presence and allow Him to equip you for the day ahead. Only He knows what is in store for you today.

Verse

For we are his handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works that God has prepared in advance, that we should live in them. One in Christ.

THOUGHT:

Everything can change in the blink of an eye - but don't worry, God never blinks.

Challenge

Life can change in an instant. We may not understand why things happen, but with God as our focal point we can rest assured that He isn't going to miss anything. Trust God today with all the things that come your way.

Security

Posted on January 22, 2010

THOUGHT:

The degree to which God strengthens you is based on two variables: the difficulty of your circumstances and your willingness to depend on Him for help.

Challenge

Do not let any set of circumstances intimidate you. The more difficult your day, the more God will put His power at your disposal. Assess the difficulties ahead of you today, and then ask God for the strength needed to meet your challenges.

Verse

May the eyes of [your] hearts be enlightened, that you may know what is the hope that belongs to his call, what are the riches of glory in his inheritance among the holy ones, and what is the surpassing greatness of his power for us who believe, in accord with the exercise of his great might, which he worked in Christ, raising him from the dead and seating him at his right hand in the heavens,

Peace

Posted on January 21, 2010

THOUGHT:

Quietness is the classroom where you begin to hear God’s voice.

Challenge

Today and every day, seek a quiet place to be still, clear your mind and listen for God’s voice. As you do this more often, you will learn to carry this stillness wherever you go so that you will hear God’s voice above the noise.

Verse

In green pastures he makes me lie down; to still waters he leads me; he restores my soul. He guides me along right paths for the sake of his name.

Courage

Posted on January 20, 2010

THOUGHT:

Real courage isn't limited to the battlefield. It can be as simple as remaining faithful when nobody's looking.

Challenge

We've all done the wrong thing because no one is there to notice - well, God does. Act as if God were on your shoulder with you for every decision. Rely on yourself (and count on God) to have the courage to always do the right thing!

Verse

I command you: be strong and steadfast! Do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD, your God, is with you wherever you go.

I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear. - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

THOUGHT:

There are people in the world so hungry, that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread.

Challenge

Pray to end wars, to end abuse and to end hunger in the world. Then do your part by sharing some of your blessings with others by donating to a local food kitchen, or some other organization whose goal is to feed the world’s hungry.

Verse

If you lavish your food on the hungry and satisfy the afflicted; Then your light shall rise in the darkness, and your gloom shall become like midday;

Priorities

Posted on January 13, 2010

THOUGHT:

You will never "find" time for anything. If you want time, you must make it.

Challenge

Often times we hear ourselves suggest that we need to "find" time to get together with old friends, to get into shape or to do something you have been putting off for a long time. Make a commitment to yourself today that this week you will "make" the time. While you’re at it, make it pleasing to God.

Service

Posted on January 7, 2010

THOUGHT:

Servants think of ministry as an opportunity, not an obligation.

Challenge

When a service need arises around you, never think, I "have to" get involved. You don't have to do anything for God. However, if God is in you, you want to find ways to help. Think about God when you have a chance to serve.

Verse

Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there also will my servant be. The Father will honor whoever serves me.

Faith

Posted on January 6, 2010

THOUGHT:

God’s Kingdom is not about earning and deserving; it’s about believing and receiving.

Challenge

Sometimes we hesitate to receive Go⁤ s gifts with an open hand because we don't always feel deserving. The fact is, none of us "deserve" anything from Him. Believe and receive God’s blessings today with a glad and thankful heart.

Verse

“And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
