THOUGHT:

The odd thing about the often long and lonely path of life is that when you get to the end of it and look back, you'll find that it was neither of these.

Challenge

Life is too short to put off blessings and joys for later. Take time today to enjoy life with a loved one. Make sure you include God.

Verse

My heart smolders within me. In my sighing a fire blazes up, and I break into speech: II - LORD, let me know my end, the number of my days, that I may learn how frail I am.

THOUGHT:

People who do too much have more of an impact than those who believe they are too much.

Challenge

Reflect for a moment on your thoughts and actions over the past few days. Find a way to convert your good intentions to actions this week.

Compassion

Posted on June 22, 2012

THOUGHT:

Forget injuries, never forget kindnesses.

Challenge

While Jesus taught us to forgive, and forget, He was not talking about forgetting another’s kindness. Remember those who have been kind to you or your loved ones by returning that kindness to them and to others. Play it forward.

Verse

And now may the LORD show you kindness and fidelity. For my part, I will show generosity to you for having done this.

THOUGHT:

No snowflake ever believed that it could be the one responsible for starting the avalanche.

Challenge

Never underestimate the positive influence you can have on others.  Never resist giving because you don’t believe your contribution will make a difference.  Challenge yourself today to look for opportunities to make a difference no matter how big or small.  Your actions and attitude will be conTAGious!

If we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we also guide their whole bodies. It is the same with ships: even though they are so large and driven by fierce winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot’s inclination wishes.

THOUGHT:

The violence of the few is much less scary than the silence of many.

Challenge

We are likely to be concerned about scary things that might happen to us, but how about what could happen through us? Show those around you that you are a Christian through your actions and your words. Start right now.

By their fruits you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

Attitude

Posted on June 13, 2012

THOUGHT:

Time is limited, so you better wake up every morning fresh and know that you have just one chance to live this particular day in Christ's image, and to string your days together into a life of action and purpose.

Challenge

Don't live by your plan today; live by Christ's plan for you. What changes will this require in your schedule? Repeat the process tomorrow.

THOUGHT:

If it is true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are others here for?

Challenge

Think about this and dwell on the positive. Maybe they are here to challenge us to strengthen our faith, they may be here to test us, maybe they are here for us to show them the way to Christ, or maybe they are here to help you. You decide and then act.

Examine me, Lord, and test me; search my heart and mind.

There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. – Albert Einstein

Faith

Posted on June 7, 2012

THOUGHT:

Faith is not anti-intellectual. Faith requires us to reach beyond the limits of our five senses and our intellect.

Challenge

Touch a loved one, smell a flower, listen to a bird sing, see the sun rise, taste your favorite food. All of your senses let you experience God’s creations. Let you faith reach beyond earthly things so you can strengthen your relationship with God.

Gratitude

Those who only have faith in themselves and not God will not inhabit a place in Heaven. They may try to plant seeds of happiness but they wont let God fertilize their garden for their faith to grow.

Joy

Posted on June 1, 2012

THOUGHT:

Unless each day can be looked back upon by an individual as one in which he has had some fun, some joy, some real satisfaction, that day is a loss. It is un-Christian and wicked, in my opinion, to allow such a thing to occur. - Dwight D. Eisenhower

Challenge

God wants you to experience the fun and joy of His creations today. Take a break from your work and chores. Don't let one of His days go to waste.

Verse

You will show me the path to life, abounding joy in your presence, the delights at your right hand forever.
