THOUGHT:

God's plan for enlarging His kingdom is so simple - one person telling another about the Savior. Yet we're busy and full of excuses. The joy you'll have when you meet that person in heaven will far exceed any discomfort you felt in sharing the gospel.

Challenge

Don’t be afraid to share your faith with others. Seek out the right opportunities and share the word of the Lord. Share this TAGline with someone to help get your conversation started.

Verse

Chapter 4 - Solemn Charge. I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingly power: proclaim the word; be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient; convince, reprimand, encourage through all patience and teaching.

Empathy

Posted on December 23, 2014

THOUGHT:

I feel it's a responsibility for anyone who breaks through a certain ceiling... to send the elevator back down and give others a helpful lift.

Challenge

Regardless of your stage in life, there are always opportunities to help others. Make it a priority to use your gifts to reach down and help others up. Let the Holy Spirit work through you to help those with less. If you were struggling wouldn’t you want someone to send the elevator back down for you?

Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Forgiveness

Posted on December 17, 2014

THOUGHT:

An eye for an eye makes the whole world go blind.

Challenge

When we are hurt by someone, our natural, human reaction is to hurt that person in return. Instead, remember what Jesus taught us – love your enemies. This will allow you to begin to replace your hurt with healing.

Verse

To the person who strikes you on one cheek, offer the other one as well, and from the person who takes your cloak, do not withhold even your tunic.

Luke 6:29

Forgiveness

Posted on December 16, 2014

THOUGHT:

I can forgive, but I cannot forget is only another way of saying, I will not forgive. Forgiveness ought to be like a canceled note - torn in two, and burned up, so that it never can be shown against one.

Challenge

Make sure you clean the slate with those around you. Don't bring up the past in discussions with others, as this is a sign that it's not forgotten. The true test is to actually let it go, as God does for us.

Verse

[And] be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another as God has forgiven you in Christ.

Stewardship

Posted on December 12, 2014

THOUGHT:

We think much more about the use of our money, which is renewable, than we do about the use of our time, which is irreplaceable.

Challenge

The Bible repeatedly warns us about the dangers of loving money, and for good reason. Focusing our attention to the accumulation of earthly wealth, will reduce the amount of time we can spend serving the Lord. Make a commitment today to devote more time to Him.

Verse

Treasure in Heaven. “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal. But store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal.
