Faith

Posted on January 31, 2014

THOUGHT:

What’s meant to be will always find a way.

Challenge

Have faith that God will show you the way of His plan each and every day. Take some quiet time to listen to what God meant for you and you’ll find your days are filled with His ways.

Verse

But the plan of the LORD stands forever, the designs of his heart through all generations.

Priorities

Posted on January 30, 2014

THOUGHT:

The primitive confession that "Jesus is Lord" is not an abstract theological proposition, but a highly personal statement.

Challenge

Challenge yourself to rethink all of your priorities – personal and professional – with the personal awareness that Jesus is Lord.  Observe how it transforms your point of view about what really matters.

Verse

For, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Encouragement

Posted on January 29, 2014

THOUGHT:

Just when you think it can't get any worse, it can. And just when you think it can't get any better, it can.

Challenge

Be strong in your trials. God has a plan for you and things will get better. That is the great thing about His love for us – it is always better than we can ever expect.

Verse

Temptation. Blessed is the man who perseveres in temptation, for when he has been proved he will receive the crown of life that he promised to those who love him.

THOUGHT:

It is not the years in your life that count, it’s the life in your years.

Challenge

Live life to its fullest. If you aren’t doing it now, start today. Think in the way many early philosophers did in trying to discover the meaning of life: one cannot truly be happy unless they are helping others.

Verse

The way we came to know love was that he laid down his life for us; so we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

Peace

Posted on January 27, 2014

THOUGHT:

“God can't give us peace and happiness apart from Himself because there is no such thing.”

Challenge

Are you wasting time looking for happiness in all the wrong places? Stop searching for joy in money, possessions, people and earthly status. Instead, seek the peace and joy that only God can deliver – that which comes from a closer relationship with his Son.

Verse

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the holy Spirit.

Integrity

Posted on January 24, 2014

THOUGHT:

A half truth is a whole lie.

Challenge

Challenge yourself to give the entire truth and leave nothing out. While it may not always be the easy way it is the only right way. Ask for God’s assistance in giving you the strength and perseverance to follow faithfully the path of the truth.

Verse

Who is the man who delights in life, who loves to see the good days?

Wisdom

Posted on January 23, 2014

THOUGHT:

Maturity is achieved when a person postpones immediate pleasures for long-term values.

Challenge

Stop and take inventory of your values the next time you are making a choice of short term pleasure. Ask yourself a few simple questions: Would God be pleased with the choice you are making? Could this short term pleasure lead to sin? Now listen to your God given values and make the right choice.

Verse

Who is the man who delights in life, who loves to see the good days?

Patience

Posted on January 22, 2014

THOUGHT:

Have patience with all things, starting with yourself.

Challenge

This can be a tough one, and you’ll most likely need help. Take a moment to reflect on your patience with yourself. Ask God to strengthen you and give you peace as you grow closer to Him. He is omnipotent and through His peace he can guide you to not only have patience with others but with yourself too.

Verse

It is good sense to be slow to anger, and an honor to overlook an offense.

THOUGHT:

Only in God’s Kingdom does surrender mean freedom.

Challenge

Each day, you face decisions to speak or act in ways that will be pleasing to God – or not. Don’t allow yourself to be a prisoner to your poor decisions. Today and every day, make the decision to surrender your life to Christ so that you may live in freedom.

Verse

Consequently, you too must think of yourselves as [being] dead to sin and living for God in Christ Jesus.

THOUGHT:

Good character is not formed in a week or a month. It is created little by little, day by day. Protracted and patient effort is needed to develop good character.

Challenge

Build your character bit by bit in kind words and deeds. Make sure it is honest and comes from your heart. Use Jesus as your guide and let others see Him through your character.

Patience

Posted on January 13, 2014

THOUGHT:

God's voice is usually nothing more than a whisper and you have to listen very carefully to hear it. But other times, in those rarest of moments, His call is obvious and rings as loud as a church bell.

Challenge

Have faith that God will show you the answer, but understand that sometimes it takes a while to be able to hear what God wants you to do. Be patient, pray and listen.

Verse

And the one who searches hearts knows what is the intention of the Spirit, because it intercedes for the holy ones according to God’s will.

THOUGHT:

If you are searching for who you are but don’t know God, you will never find yourself.

THOUGHT:

Happiness is within. It has nothing to do with how much applause you get or how many people praise you. Happiness comes when you believe that you have done something truly meaningful.

Challenge

Make sure you continuously do something useful in your life. A good place to start is in service to others. This is the usefulness which Jesus taught us leads to a meaningful and happy life. You know what to do – start today!

Wisdom

Posted on January 8, 2014

THOUGHT:

You can tell whether a man is clever by his answers. You can tell whether a man is wise by his questions.

Challenge

Make an extra effort today to show others how “wise” you are rather than just being “clever.” Ask questions – don’t speak. Listening to their stories may open the door to learning about their relationship with God.

Verse

Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you considers himself wise in this age, let him become a fool so as to become wise.

THOUGHT:

On even the worst days… I knew that at home I would find warmth, peace, companionship, and encouragement. As a consequence, the next day would surely be better.

Challenge

Remember that Christ is your ultimate home. He will provide you what you need including encouragement. He often provides encouragement through others. Always be on the lookout for Christ speaking through those around you. He is there.
