THOUGHT:

The easiest person to deceive is one’s self.

Challenge

Be honest with yourself – then it will be easy to be honest and humble to others.

Verse

The pride of your heart has deceived you— you who dwell in mountain crevices, in your lofty home, Who say in your heart, “Who will bring me down to earth?”

THOUGHT:

More people fail from lack of purpose than lack of talent.

Challenge

Choose to live your life on purpose for God. God provided you with more than enough talent to serve him.

Verse

Strive eagerly for the greatest spiritual gifts. The Way of Love. But I shall show you a still more excellent way.

Priorities

Posted on August 27, 2014

THOUGHT:

The most important things in your house are the people.

Challenge

Review what's most important for you. What are their names? Do something today to make sure they realize how much you care.

And whoever does not provide for relatives and especially family members has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Love

Posted on August 26, 2014

THOUGHT:

You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving.

Challenge

Love is an active verb, not a passive one. Turn your good intentions into good deeds today.

Verse

If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,” but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it?

Anxiety

Posted on August 25, 2014

THOUGHT:

Worry is like a rocking chair…it gives you something to do, but doesn’t get you anywhere.

Challenge

It may be naïve to think we can eliminate worry completely, but it is not unrealistic to expect better outcomes if we can convert this anxious energy into positive actions. If you are worried about something today, ask God to help you focus on a solution instead of dwelling on the problem.

Verse

Keep your tongue from evil, your lips from speaking lies.

Discipleship

Posted on August 22, 2014

THOUGHT:

It's not enough to believe in God, you must have faith that He is your savior.

Challenge

Let those you encounter today see your faith in action. If you are following God, you shouldn’t have to tell anyone about your belief – it will show in how you live.

Verse

If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,” but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it? So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Praise

Posted on August 21, 2014

THOUGHT:

Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers.

Challenge

Remember that God knows the best path for you. That might mean leaving a prayer or 2 unanswered because He knows the future, your future, and He knows you’d be better off with some prayers unanswered. The next time something wonderful happens in your life that you didn’t ask for, thank God for knowing what you truly needed.

Verse

The God of your father, who helps you, God Almighty, who blesses you, With the blessings of the heavens above, the blessings of the abyss that crouches below, The blessings of breasts and womb,

Love

Posted on August 20, 2014

THOUGHT:

He said "Love...as I have loved you." We cannot love too much.

Challenge

God has filled you with His love and the capacity to love others. Share your love with others and make room for God to fill you with more. Not sure what to do? Read the Gospels and do as Christ did.

Verse

“I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete. This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.

Comfort

Posted on August 19, 2014

THOUGHT:

God's promises are like the stars; the darker the night the brighter they shine.

Challenge

What’s more comforting than a sign from God in a time of need? Look carefully all around you and you’ll see the goodness of God shining through where you least expect it.

Verse

God added his testimony by signs, wonders, various acts of power, and distribution of the gifts of the holy Spirit according to his will. Exaltation Through Abasement.

Attitude

Posted on August 15, 2014

THOUGHT:

Too many people miss the silver lining because they were expecting gold.

Challenge

Ask God to allow your expectations to be driven by unselfish optimism, rather than self-serving greed.

Not that I say this because of need, for I have learned, in whatever situation I find myself, to be self-sufficient.

THOUGHT:

Traits like humility, courage, and empathy are easily overlooked - but it's immensely important to find them in your closest relationships.

Discipleship

Posted on August 12, 2014

God’s 3 Answers to all your prayers: 1. Yes 2. Not yet 3. I have something better in mind.

Kindness

Posted on August 8, 2014

THOUGHT:

People see God every day, they just don't recognize him.

Challenge

Start looking for God in everything you do today. He’s the smile on the bus driver’s face, the cherry tree in bloom on the corner, the person holding the door open when your arms are full. Once you start seeing God, begin showing God more through your actions. Help fill the world with God’s love.

Verse

I - To you we owe our hymn of praise, O God on Zion; To you our vows must be fulfilled,

Discipleship

Posted on August 7, 2014

Wisdom

Posted on August 6, 2014

THOUGHT:

Wealth is the progressive realization of worthy goals, the ability to love and have compassion, meaningful and caring relationships.

Challenge

Think of wealth not in terms of money. Look around each day and count at least three nonmonetary things which make you wealthy. A child’s love, a beautiful blue sky, or a smile from a co-worker are good places to start. You’ll soon discover just how rich your life truly is.

Verse

God looked at everything he had made, and found it very good. Evening came, and morning followed—the sixth day.

Priorities

Posted on August 5, 2014

THOUGHT:

Stop fixating on stuff you can touch and start caring about stuff that touches you.

Challenge

Focus on the wonderful intangibles God has provided for you. Things like love, happiness, faith, relationships, and hope. This type "stuff" is so much more meaningful in the long term. Once you start looking at things in this new light, thank God for all His many blessings.

Verse

So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Attitude

Posted on August 1, 2014

THOUGHT:

Experience is not what happens to a person, it’s what a person does with what happens to them.

Challenge

As a Christian, we have strength through our faith in God to deal with any experience that happens to us. As life “happens” to you today, be sure to tap into this never ending source of strength.

Verse

For whoever is begotten by God conquers the world. And the victory that conquers the world is our faith.
