Discipleship

Posted on April 30, 2015

THOUGHT:

Encouragement, empathy, and praise are three gifts you can give without costing you a penny, yet giving these can make you rich inside.

Challenge

With Christ as your guide, give encouragement to others, listen and empathize with their situation, and shower them with praise at every chance you get. You'll be enriching their lives and yours in ways money can't buy.

Discipleship

Posted on April 29, 2015

THOUGHT:

Goodness is about character - integrity, honesty, kindness, generosity, moral courage, and the like. More than anything else, it is about how we treat other people.

Challenge

The challenge here is clear - Be good to others today. It's what God expects of every Christian, it's what you ought to expect of yourself, and it's what others should be able to expect from you.

Verse

Whoever walks honestly walks securely, but one whose ways are crooked will fare badly.

Service

THOUGHT:

A man who was completely innocent, offered himself as a sacrifice for the good of others, including his enemies, and became the ransom of the world. It was a perfect act. - Mahatma Gandhi

Challenge

Take a second to imagine how Christ would have felt as he explained His sacrifice to His closest friends. What small act of service can you provide today to those around you as a sign of your appreciation for the love He showed you?

Verse

Amen, I say to you, I shall not drink again the fruit of the vine until the day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”

Fear

Posted on April 27, 2015

THOUGHT:

We fear men so much, because we fear God so little.

Challenge

As one of God’s children, you should not fear what may happen to you at the hands of those in this world, but what you may miss if you don’t follow the one whose hands made this world. Pray for the courage to deal with your worldly fears and to have a healthy fear of the one that controls your future.

Verse

He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, for his time has come to sit in judgment. Worship him who made heaven and earth and sea and springs of water.”

Most people spend more time planning their summer vacations than planning their lives.

Time and health are two precious assets that we don't recognize and appreciate until they have been depleted.

Challenge

Take time today to get healthier - in mind and spirit.  We all have said many times, “Where does the time go?”  It goes beyond our control just like your health if you don't pay attention to it.  Eat well, exercise and think positive thoughts. Begin by Thinking About God.
