Discipleship

Posted on December 29, 2016

THOUGHT:

Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God.

Challenge

When was the last time you stopped to think about how you could improve as a Christian? Find ways, starting today, to start acting more like a Christian in all aspects of your life. You will be surprised how it will affect your overall happiness as well as those around you.

Verse

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if one has a grievance against another; as the Lord has forgiven you, so must you also do. And over all these put on love, that is, the bond of perfection.

Forgiveness

Posted on December 28, 2016

THOUGHT:

Holding on to anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.

Challenge

Are you harboring any feelings of anger, resentment, envy or jealousy? While you may feel you are justified in feeling this way, God challenges us as Christians to forgive one another. Find a way to take the high road and seek reconciliation and it will remove the bitter taste in your mouth and the poison in your soul.

Verse

All bitterness, fury, anger, shouting, and reviling must be removed from you, along with all malice.

THOUGHT:

A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work.

THOUGHT:

Christmas is the perfect time to celebrate the love of God and family and to create memories that will last forever. Jesus is God's perfect gift to us. The important thing is not only to receive His gift, but to share it with others on Christmas and every other day of the year.

Challenge

Celebrate the birth of Christ by spreading your love this weekend with family, friends, neighbors, and strangers. It's what Jesus taught us, expects from us, and it's simply the right thing to do. Merry CHRISTmas... The TAGTeam!

Priorities

Posted on December 21, 2016

THOUGHT:

One reason people resist change is that they focus on what they have to give up, instead of what they have to gain.

Challenge

Most of the time when we think about change or contemplate our resistance to change, we focus on lifestyle changes (diet, exercise, careers, relocations, and even hairstyles!). When was the last time you thought about changing your priorities in your life in a way that would help you grow as a Christian? In all things change is inevitable, growth is optional.

Verse

So whoever is in Christ is a new creation: the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come.

Character

Posted on December 20, 2016

THOUGHT:

Two things to remember in life: take care of your thoughts when you're alone and take care of your words when you're not.

Challenge

The only thing in life you have total control of is your thoughts. Because your thoughts lead to your actions, they ultimately define who you are and what you stand for in life. Ask God for the will and strength to filter out negative and evil thoughts so that when you do act and speak it will be a reflection of His love.

Verse

No foul language should come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for needed edification, that it may impart grace to those who hear.

THOUGHT:

Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.

Challenge

Include God in all the things you think and do today, realizing that with Him all things are possible. Truly believe in Him and reap the rewards of your faith.

Verse

Jesus looked at them and said, “For human beings this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.”

Charity

Posted on December 16, 2016

THOUGHT:

I make no apology for wanting to make a profit - the more I make, the bigger percentage will go to charity. So most of the work I do now is motivated by that.

Challenge

With Christmas around the corner, are you using your success for personal profit or looking to share your gifts with those in need? Spend a minute reflecting on the greatest gift of all - Jesus Christ, and what He means to you. How are you going to share a bigger percentage of this amazing gift with others? Let God's gift motivate you today.

Verse

Now as you excel in every respect, in faith, discourse, knowledge, all earnestness, and in the love we have for you, may you excel in this gracious act also.

Discipleship

Posted on December 12, 2016

THOUGHT:

No matter how high the powers of reason, no matter how deep the intellect, no one can fully discover God's messages without paying the cost of true discipleship.

Challenge

What is the cost of true discipleship? Is it spending more time and energy strengthening your knowledge of Christ's word? Is it getting out of your comfort zone and talking to others about your faith? Is it giving up worldly possessions in order to share with those in need? Whatever it means to you, remember the benefits of being closer to God outweigh any perceived costs.

Verse

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

Charity

Posted on December 9, 2016

THOUGHT:

You shouldn't flatter yourself with your faith in God if you don't have charity for your neighbor.

Challenge

You can't be a true follower of Jesus without charity in your heart and in your deeds. What have you done recently to demonstrate your faith in God through your actions? What will you do today?

Verse

So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead. Indeed someone may say, “You have faith and I have works.” Demonstrate your faith to me without works, and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works.

THOUGHT:

It is not enough to aim, you must hit.

Challenge

And in order to hit, you must pull the trigger. In other words, you cannot plow a field by turning it over in your mind. Ultimately your results are a by product of your ACTIONS, not just your thoughts. Ask God for the courage and energy to turn your good intentions into good deeds today.

Goals

Posted on November 30, 2016

THOUGHT:

Many people confuse milestones with goals.

Challenge

This is unfortunate because milestones while important are just steps toward a goal. Go long and create big goals and then actively work on milestones to get there. Leading a good Christian life is perhaps the most rewarding goal. Commit to daily milestones to work toward that goal and you'll lead a happy fulfilling life along the way.

Gratitude

Posted on November 23, 2016

THOUGHT:

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.

Challenge

As you pause from your hurried life on this day of Thanksgiving, allow your feelings of gratitude to truly permeate your attitude and your approach to your life throughout the year. Let your daily prayers be a reminder of your many blessings and ask God to help you to maintain a grateful heart so you can always focus your life on what really matters.
