Charity

Posted on July 29, 2016

THOUGHT:

True charity is the desire to be useful to others with no thought of recompense.

Challenge

Perform at least one act of charity of helping someone in need, or of simple kindness in secret each day. Keep your identity just between you and God; the recipient will remain unaware of their Secret Servant. They'll just think it's God being there for them – and they're right.

Verse

Chapter 6 - Teaching About Almsgiving. “[But] take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them; otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father.

Courage

Posted on July 28, 2016

THOUGHT:

There are no easy answers, but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right.

Challenge

Today when offered with a choice – do the right thing. It's very simple to choose, God gave us a moral compass and he expects us to use it.

Verse

Then David said to his son Solomon: “Be strong and steadfast, and go to work; do not fear or be dismayed, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or abandon you before you have completed all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.

Death

Posted on July 27, 2016

THOUGHT:

The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.

Challenge

Live your God-given life fully each day. Don't waste precious time and don't put off until tomorrow the good you can accomplish today.

Verse

You have no idea what your life will be like tomorrow. You are a puff of smoke that appears briefly and then disappears.

Jump, and you will find out how to unfold your wings as you fall.

Challenge

Jump, and have the courage to stand up for what you know is right. Don't quietly stand idly by and leave unchallenged something you know to be wrong. Speak up and show all what is right.

Priorities

Posted on July 25, 2016

THOUGHT:

Life is never made unbearable by circumstances, but only by lack of meaning and purpose.

Challenge

Life's journey for each of us is never absent of challenges, setbacks and adversities. The energy and determination to fight through adversity is fueled only by your inner spirit. Your inner spirit can only thrive if it has some significant meaning and purpose to live for. Who and what gives meaning and purpose to your life? Where does God fit into your life? Remember He told us He was the bread of life. Don''t lose your appetite for Him!

Verse

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.

THOUGHT:

Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.

Challenge

In that space, no matter how long or short it may be, find a way to make choices you cannot only accept and live with, but choices that will allow you to grow and rejoice about. You may want to ask God what he thinks you should do.

Verse

The human heart plans the way, but the LORD directs the steps.

THOUGHT:

Some people grumble that roses have thorns; I am grateful that thorns have roses.

Challenge

Always look for a silver lining. No matter how hard the trials you face become, there is always something positive you can learn to improve your future. Have faith that you can find a rose on your next thorn.

Verse

Those sown among thorns are another sort. They are the people who hear the word, but worldly anxiety, the lure of riches, and the craving for other things intrude and choke the word, and it bears no fruit.

Determination

Posted on July 8, 2016

THOUGHT:

Many of life's failures are experienced by people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

Challenge

It has been said "Fatigue makes cowards of us all." It is easy to allow your will to slowly evaporate when you continue to run into adversity and fall short of your goals. With God's help, you can renew your spirit and continue to pursue your dream. Don't give up...Success could be right around the corner.

Do not grow slack in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.

Leadership

Posted on July 7, 2016

THOUGHT:

Speak less than you know; have more than you show.

Challenge

Be more humble everyday. Remember, success requires no explanation and failure allows no alibis. Spend less time today focusing on yourself and wearing your good fortune on your sleeve. Spend more time today helping others and inspiring their spirit. You don't always need to have the last word or be the smartest guy in the room. Leave that up to God.

Verse

But rather, let those who boast, boast of this, that in their prudence they know me, Know that I, the LORD, act with fidelity, justice, and integrity on earth. How I take delight in these—oracle of the LORD.

Attitude

Posted on July 6, 2016

THOUGHT:

Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.

Challenge

There is really only one thing you are in total control of...And that is what you think. Fill your thoughts with only positive and productive things. This will create an attitude and will within you that will allow you to deal with life's real challenges. Truly believing that God is ultimately in control of everything makes your task easier.
