THOUGHT:

The most direct route between point A and point B on your life-journey is the path of unwavering trust in God.

Challenge

In our hurry-up world, we try so hard to find the fastest way to love, success, happiness and self-fulfillment. As Christians, the answer has been in front of us the whole time: Trust in God.

Verse

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, on your own intelligence do not rely; In all your ways be mindful of him, and he will make straight your paths.

THOUGHT:

God is far more interested in a relationship with you than what you are or are not doing.

Challenge

Today, worry less about what you are (or are not) doing for God, and spend time seeking a closer relationship with Him. When you are walking close to Him, He will guide your way. Then, and only then, will you know exactly what to do.

Verse

He has lifted high the horn of his people; to the praise of all his faithful, the Israelites, the people near to him. Hallelujah!

Challenge

Focus on brightening all rooms you enter today by encouraging others, congratulating others, and refusing to speak poorly of others. Your actions will be contagious and will help light the way for others.

Verse

Chapter 2 - Plea for Unity and Humility. If there is any encouragement in Christ, any solace in love, any participation in the Spirit, any compassion and mercy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, with the same love, united in heart, thinking one thing.

THOUGHT:

The greatest communication skill you can master has nothing to do with talking. The greatest communication skill you can master is to listen.

Challenge

Learn to be a committed listener and you can develop deeper and more meaningful relationships. This applies to your relationship with God as well. Spend quiet time in prayer today, and listen for what God is saying to you.

Verse

Herodias harbored a grudge against him and wanted to kill him but was unable to do so. Herod feared John, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man, and kept him in custody. When he heard him speak he was very much perplexed, yet he liked to listen to him.

THOUGHT:

We will have to repent in this generation not merely for the vitriolic words and actions of the bad people, but for the appalling silence of the good people. - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Challenge

God does not simply want us to be “good” by virtue of not doing anything “bad”, but rather he calls us to make a difference for HIM in this world. Ask for God's forgiveness for the times you have been silent, and start making some noise – reach out to someone in need, invite someone to church this weekend, stand up for someone who is being persecuted – the opportunities are endless.

Verse

Those whom I love, I reprove and chastise. Be earnest, therefore, and repent.

Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. - Helen Keller

Challenge

An interesting thought; however, as Christians we are encouraged to turn it around a bit. We grow and nurture our faith which gives us the optimism that we can achieve anything with God. Take your faith (and God) into everything you do and you'll achieve greatness. Optimism is simply God showing us our way.

Verse

Memorial Day is about honoring all the Veterans who have served our country and have made tremendous sacrifices – For this we are so thankful. In doing so, you will demonstrate your respect and honor to God, to your country and to those who fell defending it.
