Hope

Posted on January 31, 2018

THOUGHT:

Look forward with hope, not backwards with regret.

Challenge

Pray for your future. Do your part and have the faith and hope that you will see God's plan for you and you'll follow that path in everything you do. As for the past - remember all the blessings and allow your gratitude to fuel your optimism.

Verse

For I know well the plans I have in mind for you—oracle of the LORD—plans for your welfare and not for woe, so as to give you a future of hope.

Courage

Posted on January 30, 2018

THOUGHT:

Do one thing every day that scares you.

Challenge

In other words, go way out of your comfort zone at least once each day to do what is right and will benefit someone around you. Being a Christian is not always easy. Ask God for the courage to accept his invitation and challenge to be one of His disciples.

Verse

Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have; God is pleased by sacrifices of that kind.

Determination

Posted on January 29, 2018

THOUGHT:

Good things are coming down the road. Just don't stop walking.

Challenge

You've heard the old saying: "The harder I work, the luckier I get." Luck takes work. You need to get to that place where good things will happen, they won't come to you. Move forward with the guidance of your faith and make things happen!

Verse

God’s Indomitable Love in Christ. We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.

Courage

Posted on January 26, 2018

THOUGHT:

Life is inherently risky. There is only one big risk you should avoid at all costs, and that is the risk of doing nothing.

Challenge

Don't be afraid to take a risk and stand up for what you know is right. When you see a wrong done, speak out from your heart and push for what is right, just and fair. Make yourself heard and the world (and you) will be better for it.

Verse

A good person out of the store of goodness in his heart produces good, but an evil person out of a store of evil produces evil; for from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks.

Change

Posted on January 25, 2018

THOUGHT:

You will be known for what you've done... not what you plan to do.

Challenge

Be a doer. Others can see accomplishments, but only hear plans, and no one can realize the benefits from just a plan. Start doing today!

Verse

So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; It shall not return to me empty, but shall do what pleases me, achieving the end for which I sent it.

Change

Posted on January 24, 2018

THOUGHT:

Risk more than others think is safe. Care more than others think is wise. Dream more than others think is practical. Expect more than others think is possible.

Challenge

Praise more, give more, risk more and listen more. Stretch yourself today and you'll bring more positive change into the world than you'll ever know.

Verse

“I know your works, your love, faith, service, and endurance, and that your last works are greater than the first.

Success

Posted on January 23, 2018

THOUGHT:

Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.

Challenge

Keep concentrating on "doing" the right thing all the time and you'll find success often. "Do unto others..." can be a big part of doing the right thing as you'll often be emulated spreading success beyond just yourself.

Verse

Do not let this book of the law depart from your lips. Recite it by day and by night, that you may carefully observe all that is written in it; then you will attain your goal; then you will succeed.

THOUGHT:

If the world seems cold to you, kindle fires to warm it.

Challenge

Make a commitment to spend at least five extra minutes today making people around you feel good. By warming the hearts of those around you, you can create a flame that will quickly spread.

Verse

And again, when he leads the first-born into the world, he says: “Let all the angels of God worship him.” Of the angels he says: “He makes his angels winds and his ministers a fiery flame”;

Service

Posted on January 19, 2018

THOUGHT:

There are people in the world so hungry, that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread.

Challenge

Pray to end wars, to end abuse and to end hunger in the world. Then do your part by sharing some of your blessings with others by donating to a local food kitchen, or some other organization whose goal is to feed the world's hungry.

Verse

If you lavish your food on the hungry and satisfy the afflicted; Then your light shall rise in the darkness, and your gloom shall become like midday;

Comfort

Posted on January 18, 2018

THOUGHT:

You will never "find" time for anything. If you want time, you must make it.

Challenge

Often times we hear ourselves suggest that we need to "find" time to get together with old friends, to get into shape or to do something you have been putting off for a long time. Make a commitment to yourself today that this week you will "make" the time. While you're at it, make it pleasing to God.

Verse

May the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep by the blood of the eternal covenant, Jesus our Lord,

THOUGHT:

Every day do something that will inch you closer to a better tomorrow.

Challenge

It does not matter if you are taking baby steps as long as you are moving forward. Ask God to provide you with the willpower and discipline to find a small way to improve yourself today. Do it again tomorrow.

Verse

If we live in the Spirit, let us also follow the Spirit.

Comfort

Posted on January 16, 2018

THOUGHT:

A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes.

Challenge

Think About God. If you do that a little more each day, you'll find blessings you never knew you had, and that is a blessing in itself.

Verse

What your hands provide you will enjoy; you will be blessed and prosper:

Service

Posted on January 15, 2018

THOUGHT:

Servants think of ministry as an opportunity, not an obligation.

Challenge

When a service need arises around you, never think, I "have to" get involved. You don't have to do anything for God. However, if God is in you, you want to find ways to help. Think about God when you have a chance to serve.

Verse

Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there also will my servant be. The Father will honor whoever serves me.

Faith

Posted on January 12, 2018

THOUGHT:

God's Kingdom is not about earning and deserving; it's about believing and receiving.

Challenge

Sometimes we hesitate to receive God's gifts with an open hand because we don't always feel deserving. The fact is, none of us "deserve"" anything from Him. Believe and receive God's blessings today with a glad and thankful heart.

Verse

“And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

THOUGHT:

Pray for a good harvest, but continue to hoe.

Challenge

Knowing God will take care of his people doesn't excuse you from cultivating your own gifts. Focus on a spiritual goal or task you have in front of you. Go to God in prayer, and then start moving some dirt.

Verse

Let us not grow tired of doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest, if we do not give up.

Posted on January 10, 2018

So with yourselves: since you strive eagerly for spirits, seek to have an abundance of them for building up the church. Need for Interpretation.

Evangelism

Posted on January 5, 2018

THOUGHT:

Be the kind of man that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says "Oh Crap, He's up!"

Challenge

It's much easier to say we are Christians, than to live it. Show the world your faith by your words and actions and it will scare the devil out of others.

Posted on January 4, 2018

The greatest tragedy in life is not unanswered prayer, it is unoffered prayer.

Joy

Posted on January 3, 2018

THOUGHT:

If you have no joy, there is a leak in your Christianity somewhere.

Challenge

Where are the "holes" in your Christianity? Fill them with prayer, scripture and fellowship with other Christians. Let your joy overflow instead of seeping out.

Verse

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the holy Spirit.

THOUGHT:

With every temptation, there will be a way of escape.

Challenge

When you are tempted today, immediately look for a way out. God will provide the escape, but you need to have the courage to take it.

Verse

No trial has come to you but what is human. God is faithful and will not let you be tried beyond your strength; but with the trial he will also provide a way out, so that you may be able to bear it. Warning Against Idolatry.
