THOUGHT:

We get so worried about being "pretty"! Let's be pretty KIND, pretty LOVING, pretty COMPASIONATE, pretty FORGIVING, and pretty HUMBLE!

Challenge

Live your life by being pretty on the inside and being a pretty good example of how to live a good Christian life to all those around you.

Verse

Finally, all of you, be of one mind, sympathetic, loving toward one another, compassionate, humble.

THOUGHT:

Be present. I would encourage you with all my heart just to be present. Be present and open to the moment that is unfolding before you. Because, ultimately, your life is made up of moments. So don't miss them by being lost in the past or anticipating the future.

Challenge

Do you want to improve the quality of your life? Then train yourself to be "positively present" in every moment of your life. Like most worthwhile habits, it will require commitment and persistence, but it will quickly lower your blood pressure and increase your happiness.

Verse

No foul language should come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for needed edification, that it may impart grace to those who hear.

THOUGHT:

I believe purpose is something for which one is responsible; it's not just divinely assigned.

Challenge

There is no doubt that God has a plan for you, but He requires you to discover and develop your purpose in life. What are you living for each day? Do you like your answer?

Verse

For we are his handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works that God has prepared in advance, that we should live in them. One in Christ.

Posted on July 26, 2018

THOUGHT:

Time passes so quickly that you don't even notice it until it begins to show on you. So, don't wait to use the good china, go on the trip, eat the cake, watch the late movie, read your favorite book and take a chance in life. The time is now. Tomorrow is promised to no one.

Challenge

We all agree that time is flying by...So what in the world are you waiting for. How many times do you have to acknowledge to yourself and to others that you can't believe how fast time is marching by? Yet, here you sit!

Verse

You have no idea what your life will be like tomorrow. You are a puff of smoke that appears briefly and then disappears.

If you see your glass as half empty, pour it into another glass and stop complaining.

Challenge

If you are not happy with the circumstances in your life, change them. It is YOUR life, so take actions today to begin to make it better. Ask God for the courage to take the first step. The second one will be easier.

God heard your prayer - now just trust Him and remember - His timing, not yours.

Challenge

How strong is your faith? When you pray today, have true faith that God will hear your prayer. If it is according to His will, He will answer your prayer. Have patience and wait for God's blessing.

Verse

After this Jesus found him in the temple area and said to him, “Look, you are well; do not sin any more, so that nothing worse may happen to you.” The man went and told the Jews that Jesus was the one who had made him well.

If the grass looks greener on the other side...Stop staring. Stop comparing. Stop complaining. Start watering the grass you're standing on!

Sometimes it is easy to grow envious of what you perceive others have and you don't. Instead of focusing on what you don't have, focus and cultivate what you do have. God has blessed you with many unique talents. Take some time today to first thank Him for your talents, and then spend even more time developing them.

Verse

First Book—Psalms 1–41 Psalm 1 True Happiness in God’s Law I - Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in company with scoffers. He is like a tree planted near streams of water, that yields its fruit in season; Its leaves never wither; whatever he does prospers.
