Integrity

Posted on January 31, 2019

THOUGHT:

No cost is too heavy for the preservation of one's honor.

Challenge

Don't allow your daily temptations to compromise your honor and integrity. They are very difficult to get back if you slip up. Always use God as your guide and your honor will be in good hands.

God alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not fall.

Compassion

Posted on January 30, 2019

THOUGHT:

Let my heart be broken by the things that break the heart of God.

Challenge

Jesus showed compassion to many, but certainly had a heart for the underprivileged. Find a place in your heart to serve the poor in your community and let your heart be like His.

Verse

Whoever has ears ought to hear.

THOUGHT:

Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.

Challenge

Don't ever allow life to wear you down to the point that you lose your sense of adventure, your sense of joy, your sense of passion or your sense of humor. Ask God for the strength and courage to revitalize those things that may be slowly dying inside of you. Start today living your life more fully.

Verse

For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control.

Prayer

Posted on January 24, 2019

THOUGHT:

Let everything be open to God; turn to Him in every situation.

Challenge

In our attempt to lead our lives, it is too easy to try to hide our problems and indiscretions from God. Take a minute to say a prayer to God asking for courage to be open to His will. He already knows what you're dealing with, let Him provide you with guidance through His plan for you.

Verse

Do not fear: I am with you; do not be anxious: I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.

Priorities

THOUGHT:

The things that we love the most tell us who we are.

Challenge

The Bible tells us to love one another, just as God loves us. Are you letting your love of things interfere with your most precious relationships? Take a hard look at your priorities. It is OK to like nice things, but make sure you focus your love on the people most important in your life.

Verse

I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Wisdom

Posted on January 22, 2019

THOUGHT:

Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone.

Challenge

Don't put off pursuing a personal relationship with God. Make the best use of your time while you still have time. Seek God today.

Verse

Watch carefully then how you live, not as foolish persons but as wise, making the most of the opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not continue in ignorance, but try to understand what is the will of the Lord.

Discipleship

Posted on January 21, 2019

THOUGHT:

If you got arrested for being a good Christian, would there be enough evidence to prove it?

Challenge

Would there? Are there specific actions that would create a more compelling case to prove your love of Christ? Start working today, right now, in creating that proof. God will be with you all the way!

Verse

I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Determination

Posted on January 18, 2019

THOUGHT:

You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

Challenge

The hardest step to reaching your goals and overcoming adversity is always the first step. Knowing that God is at your side, find the strength and confidence within you to move forward starting today. What action can you take right now (no matter how big or small) that will get you moving in the right direction?

Service

Posted on January 17, 2019

THOUGHT:

No one is useless in this world who lightens the burden on another.

Challenge

Look around you today. Who needs help? Share your blessings with them and lesson their burden. Find a way to let God's light shine through you in the service of others today.

Verse

As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.

Attitude

Posted on January 16, 2019

THOUGHT:

Don't let the past remind us of what we are not now.

Challenge

Look to your past as a source of happiness and fond memories. Don't spoil the present with the fact that growing older does not allow you to run as fast, jump as high or even think and remember as well as you used to. Ask for God's on-going help to mature gracefully and enjoy every phase of your life.

Verse

My eyes look with glee on my wicked enemies; my ears shall hear what happens to my wicked foes. The just shall flourish like the palm tree, shall grow like a cedar of Lebanon. Planted in the house of the LORD, they shall flourish in the courts of our God.

Faith

Posted on January 15, 2019

THOUGHT:

The best angle from which to approach any problem is a try-angle.

Challenge

If you change your problems into opportunities, how would you take advantage of them? Take a minute to reflect on the opportunities in your life to resolve an issue. Now use this new angle to show the world how easy it is to accomplish these tasks with His help.

Verse

Jesus said to them in reply, “Have faith in God. Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him. Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours.

THOUGHT:

If you see someone without a smile, give them yours.

It's so easy and you don't lose yours in the process, in fact, yours may very well grow in the reflection. So start today with a cheerful heart, showing God's love to others with a simple smile. Everybody wins!

THOUGHT:

A friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow.

THOUGHT:

One day or day one...It's your decision.

Challenge

You can't plow a field by turning it over in your mind. You can either think about it or start plowing. When you take your shoes off at the end of the day today, check and see if there is any mud on your soles.

Verse

In seedtime sluggards do not plow; when they look for the harvest, it is not there.

Priorities

Posted on January 9, 2019

THOUGHT:

The big question should not be, "What can we do tomorrow?" The question should be, "What can I do today to prepare for tomorrow?"

Challenge

Are you prepared for a tomorrow that isn't guaranteed? Christ told us that we won't know the hour or the day. What if it's tomorrow? Review your conscience and talk with God to ensure you're ready for His return.

Verse

But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.

Comfort

Posted on January 8, 2019

THOUGHT:

The more authentic we are within ourselves, the more authentic we can be with those we love.

Challenge

It's easy to pretend life meets expectations so we become content with less than our potential. Take a minute to truly reflect on your current situation. Find a way to be honest with yourself so that you can truly be more open and honest to those closest to you. With internal happiness, it is easier to provide the joy to those around you.

Verse

Even before a word is on my tongue, LORD, you know it all.

Priorities

Posted on January 7, 2019

THOUGHT:

No one is always busy. It's always about priorities. You will always find time for the people and things that are important to you.

Challenge

If you don't or won't find the time, are the items you were too busy for really important to you (or God)? What did you deem not important today? Was that the right choice? If not, pray to God for the strength to give them time tomorrow no matter what.

Verse

Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.

THOUGHT:

Pretend that every single person you meet has a sign around his or her neck that says, 'Make me feel important'.

Gratitude

Posted on January 2, 2019

THOUGHT:

Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.

Challenge

During this season of giving thanks and recognizing your blessings, let the peace that only true faith in God can offer guide your thoughts and your spirit. Now, with a new awareness your abundant good fortune, find a way to help someone else today.

Verse

And let the peace of Christ control your hearts, the peace into which you were also called in one body. And be thankful.
