Change

THOUGHT:

Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.

Challenge

Set your mind to God's plan for you. Invite Him to show you what changes you need to make in order to be a better Christian. Once your mind has changed, progress toward a better Christian life is only a few prayers away.

So whoever is in Christ is a new creation: the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come.

Integrity

THOUGHT:

The truth of the matter is that you ALWAYS know the RIGHT thing to do. The hard part is doing it.

Challenge

On God's pallet of truth and righteousness, there are no "gray tones." It is either black or white. Right or wrong. As you paint the portrait of your life, are you choosing the right colors?

Humility

Challenge

It is easy to acquire a distorted reality of our own abilities. Your every breath is a gift from God. Recognize your dependence on God and others, then your ability to grow magnifies exponentially.

The opportunity to do what is right is available at all times.

Challenge

It is always the right time to do the right thing. And the right thing is what God desires of you. You know in your heart what God expects of you. Do it NOW.

Compassion

THOUGHT:

Never judge someone at their worst.

Challenge

Everyone makes mistakes and has a bad day now and then. Don't judge them. Rather, see Christ in the person. Leave the judging to God and be the friend they need.

Chapter 7 - Judging Others. “Stop judging, that you may not be judged. For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.

Change

THOUGHT:

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.

Challenge

Take time in prayer to ask God what change you need to be closer to Him, to strengthen your faith, and to follow His path more closely. Now go out and make these changes. No one is going to do it for you, but you've got the best guide in the universe to help you on your journey.

Love

THOUGHT:

Love people more than your opinion.

Challenge

There are many issues today where we are deeply divided in opinions. Don't allow your strong opinions compromise your friendships. Seek the common ground as Christ taught us - Put your opinions aside and love one another with the same compassion that Jesus loves us.

The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Spiritual joy is what you experience when you choose to give thanks to God no matter what happens—even when things go wrong.

Challenge

Things sometimes go wrong - that's life. Take a deep breath, focus on the positives in your life, and give thanks to God. Experience the peace and joy that comes from knowing that God is with you no matter what happens.

Challenge

How often do you make plans for your life without first seeking guidance from God? He loves you and has a plan for you. Pause right now, and seek His guidance.

Your beliefs don't make you a better person, your behavior does.

Challenge

Be better today than you were yesterday. Use the way Christ lived His life as an example each and every day in order to stay on the path that God has laid out for you. Turn your faith and good intentions into actions today.

God's Guidance

THOUGHT:

When the devil comes knocking on your door simply say "Jesus, it's for you.”

Challenge

When temptation enters your life today, and it will, invite Jesus in to guide your decisions. With Jesus at your side, you will most certainly make better decisions, leaving the devil on the outside looking in.

Put on the armor of God so that you may be able to stand firm against the tactics of the devil.

THOUGHT:

If you find yourself far from God, remember this: He didn't move.

Challenge

If you are feeling distant from God, know that it is your own feelings that make you feel this way. Own those feelings, and change them. Regardless of what you are doing or what you may have done, call upon His guidance. He is right beside you.

Love

THOUGHT:

Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely. Though we are imperfect, He loves us perfectly. Though we may feel lost and without compass, God's love encompasses us completely. He loves every one of us, even those who are flawed, rejected, awkward, sorrowful, or broken.

Challenge

Pray for God's grace. Pray for His forgiveness. Pray for His love. Do it now and do it often. You'll see your life change in wonderful ways.

Goals

THOUGHT:

Great ambition and conquest without contribution is without significance.

Challenge

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having lofty personal goals. Just be sure your goals embody your Christian values and your personal accomplishments provide some level of contribution to the well-being of those around you. Otherwise, your personal success is really quite hollow and insignificant.

Treasure in Heaven. “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal. Attitude

THOUGHT:

Complain and Remain…The words in your mouth can be prison bars.

Challenge

Why complain? – All it does is trap you in an unrelenting negative state of mind. Free yourself from your troubles by taking positive actions and surrounding yourself with positive people. Ask God for the strength to take that first step.

No foul language should come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for needed edification, that it may impart grace to those who hear.

Discipleship

THOUGHT:

If you don’t live by the way you believe, you will soon believe the way you live.

Challenge

Pause for a moment today and think about the values you hold dear. Are you a living example of a person with these values? If not, ask God for the strength and honesty to reexamine your moral compass. Now, believe in it, and more importantly, follow it.

So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Ability does not produce effort. Attitude does.

Challenge

The only way to succeed is to try…and the best way to try is with a great attitude. Starting today, try to be a better Christian – How’s your attitude?

If you or someone you know is dealing with a difficult situation, turn to God in prayer. No problem is too big for God. He will provide you comfort.
