Peace

Posted on January 27, 2023

THOUGHT:

The human mind cannot comprehend Christ's constancy.

Challenge

Our human emotions flicker and falter in the face of our varying circumstances. Worse, we tend to project our fickle feelings onto God. Look beyond the flux of your circumstances. Fix your thoughts on God and change your attitude knowing He is the same yesterday, today and forever and you will find peace.

There may be those on earth who dress better or eat better, but those who enjoy the peace of God sleep better.

Encouragement

Posted on January 20, 2023

THOUGHT:

All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.

THOUGHT:

There's something about death that is comforting. The thought that you could die tomorrow frees you to appreciate your life now.

Humility

Posted on January 17, 2023

Regardless of anything you have done in the past, what matters most is what you do next.

Do not see a day as devoid of joy just because it contains difficulties.

God's Guidance

Posted on January 10, 2023

THOUGHT:

"Walk by faith, not by sight" doesn't mean closing your eyes to what is around you. It means subordinating the visible world to the invisible Shepherd.

Challenge

Ask Jesus to guide you today. He knows what lies ahead. He knows the better path for you even though it may seem hard.

Verse

For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Integrity

Posted on January 9, 2023

THOUGHT:

Beware of seeing yourself through other people's eyes. It is impossible to discern what others think of you.

Challenge

The major problem with letting others define you is that it borders on idolatry. Your concern to please others dampens your desire to please God. See yourself through God's eyes and see yourself as one who is deeply loved by your Creator.

Verse

And he said to them, “You justify yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts; for what is of human esteem is an abomination in the sight of God.

Prayer

Posted on January 6, 2023

THOUGHT:

When you affirm big, believe big, and pray big, big things happen.

Challenge

What do you need to improve your life as a Christian? Be specific, pray big and have true faith. God's blessings are far beyond your imagination.

Verse

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, That there may be food in my house. Put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, And see if I do not open the floodgates of heaven for you, and pour down upon you blessing without measure!

Security

Posted on January 5, 2023

THOUGHT:

Sometimes you may feel distant from God. Recognize it for what it is - a feeling. Do not confuse it with reality.

Challenge

The Bible is full of promises that God will always be with us. Jesus' last recorded promise to His followers (and you) was that He would be with us always. Let this assurance fill you with joy and peace. No matter what you lose in this life, you can never lose your relationship with God.

Verse

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

Attitude

Posted on January 4, 2023

THOUGHT:

Never miss an opportunity to learn. If your actions were good, enjoy the memories and repeat them. If your actions were bad, learn from the experience.

Challenge

As you are making decisions today, think about the consequences. How will your actions affect those around you now and in the future? We had a wonderful teacher in Jesus. Look to Him for guidance to create a more positive impact for the world.

Verse

And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Anxiety

Posted on January 3, 2023

THOUGHT:

Instead of trying to "fix" yourself, fix your eyes on Jesus.

Challenge

Rather than using your energy trying to fix yourself, your circumstances or (worst of all) others, redirect your energy to praising Christ. Let Him change your perspective of yourself. Remember that He sees you clothed in His radiant and perfect love.

Verse

Look to him and be radiant, and your faces may not blush for shame. This poor one cried out and the LORD heard, and from all his distress he saved him.

God's Guidance

Posted on January 2, 2023

THOUGHT:

The world applauds quick-witted retorts, but God's instructions about communications is quite different.

Challenge

God teaches us to be quick to listen and slow to speak. This allows positive discussions to replace potentially negative ones. During your conversations today, say a quick prayer, "Holy Spirit, help me" before you reply or react. Let this discussion be guided by the Holy Spirit who God sent to "teach you all things."

Verse

III. Exhortations and Warnings - Doers of the Word. Know this, my dear brothers: everyone should be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath,
