Holy Week – Thursday – God uses broken things. It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, and broken bread to bring salvation.
In obedience to God, Jesus allowed himself to be broken for the sake of our broken souls. The next time you break bread in remembrance of His sacrifice, close your eyes and imagine Jesus putting your broken life back together, then thank Him for this eternal gift.
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take it; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it. “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many.”
